I regret getting a Kindle

Last year, I bought a Kindle because I wanted to read more. That didn’t really work out because apparently, I now have the attention span of a goldfish. I can barely get through a paragraph anymore without spacing out.
Still, that’s not why I regret buying a Kindle.

I regret it because of the actual device itself. When I initially got it, I was in awe of how truly paper-like the screen was. It had zero glare, which meant it was very comfortable to read even in bright or dim lighting.

However, it wasn’t as responsive to touch as I wanted it to be. Perhaps I’m just used to using smartphones with quick response to touch, but with a Kindle, I had a hard time highlighting passages and jotting down my notes. I love doing that when reading, so it gave me a headache and I dreaded having to use it.

Luckily, a friend bought it from me, and it now has a happy home! She says she’s able to read more and actually enjoy it, so I guess everything worked out in the end. Plus, I find I’m able to read more often on my tablet or on my phone anyway.
